Dubai: 28 July, 2007 (WAM) - The Ministry of Health recentlyannounced that the Consulting Team at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), amember of Tatweer, has been tasked with revamping services at Al-BarahaHospital in partnership with Harvard Medical International (HMI).

The Consulting Team will work according to the Ministry of Health's guidelines,initiating meticulous market research before overhauling the master andsite plans for the Al-Baraha Hospital in Dubai.

"Our new strategy (2008 - 2012) is focused on improving the quality ofmedical services. One of our main objectives is to upgrade the servicesat our hospitals and bring them on par with global standards. This iswhy we feel honoured to appoint DHCC - Harvard Medical International Consulting Team to revamp services at Al Baraha Hospital. We believe theycan help us move towards a more rewarding public-private partnership forthe ultimate benefit of the community in the UAE and the region," HumaidAl-Qutami, UAE Minister for Health, said.

"The Consultancy Team will review ambulatory care and related facilitiesto ensure a more dynamic service, keeping in mind the healthcare needs,the expected footfall and competitors in the area," he added.

Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, CEO of DHCC, said the DHCC/HMI ConsultingTeam will focus on providing strategic, clinical, educational and operationalsolutions to Al-Baraha Hospital to ensure a higher quality service - qualitythat is sustained in the region, and can include more healthcare providersat a later date.

The Ministry of Health's objective in revamping facilities at the Al-BarahaHospital is to create a more people-friendly environment for better healthcareservice.

The Consulting Team will also develop a model for public-private partnershipfor the Al Baraha Hospital which could potentially be applied to the otherMoH hospitals.
