The British University in Dubai has been building its reputation throughout the Middle East with the help of the city's British Council branch.
Jo Maher, the council's director in Dubai, gave a presentation about the new university for 40 delegates from British Councils in 16 countries as well as directors of its regions around the world - many of whom were hearing about the university for the first time.
The first full meeting of the BUiD's leading committee was held last month under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates.
The BUiD will open in September at Knowledge Village. The presentation was co-presented by Tim Gore, the former British Council director in Dubai, and was held in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Jo Maher said: "There was a very strong and positive response from all the delegates. It was the perfect opportunity for us to brief our colleagues not only on BUiD but also on the broader developments in higher education in Dubai and the UAE".
