Baghdad - Italian companies expressed their willingness to join the Iraqi markets and conclude partnerships with companies of the Housing and Construction Ministry.

Several Italian companies had discussed with Iraqi officials possibility of holding investments in Iraq.

A statement by the MoHC reported "The Senior Undersecretary of the ministry, Istabraq al-Shouk, met with a number of Italian companies specialized in constructions where they discussed how to enter the Iraqi markets to implement strategic projects in various sectors in Iraq."

The Undersecretary added that "We called the Italian companies to hold partnerships with the executive companies associated to the MoHC to implement the ministry's projects especially those of the roads, bridges, housing compounds, and hospitals or though setting designs and supervising the projects implemented by the companies of the ministry and involve the engineering cadres of the Iraqi ministry in the actions of the Italian companies to take advantage of these companies' expertise."

"For their part, representatives of the Italian companies expressed their great interest in sharing the Iraqi markets and hold partnerships with the Ministry's companies where field visits will be conducted to some departments correlated with the ministry to monitor the projects being implemented by those departments," the statement added.
