Aircraft lessor Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) said its leasing division had signed 147 lease deals in the first nine months of the year.

The deals, secured by DAE Capital, include lease agreements, extensions and amendments, DAE said on Monday.

The company's leasing division serves more than 100 airline customers in more than 50 countries. It has a fleet of 425 aircraft, including Airbus, ATR and Boeing, with a combined value of more than $16 billion.

From January to September this year, DAE acquired 23 aircraft but sold 23 of its existing fleet. It also added three new managed customers during the same period.

The company didn’t specify the number of lease deals signed during the first nine months of 2020, when airlines struggled with plummeting passenger traffic and border closures.

However, DAE said it had secured new long-term lease agreements for 31 aircraft in the third quarter of 2020, when travel restrictions started to ease and some borders re-opened.
