In the context of its endeavours to improve services to customers and deliver integrated governmental services through a single counter in cooperation with strategic partners in the public sector, and simplify procedures of service processing, the Municipal System has opened a new municipal center at Bawabat al Sharq Mall. The move is part of a systematic plan to broaden the scope of municipal services to cover all districts in a way that meets customers aspirations at various places offering governmental services through a common governmental platform.

Commenting on the opening of a municipal center at Bawabat al Sharq Mall, H.E. Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs, said: "This step is part of the endeavours of the Municipal System to realize the ambitions of our prudent government led by HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to deliver best-in-class services to community members. The step is also taken in the context of the attention and follow up of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to ensure the best means of living and the delivery of integrated municipal services at residential neighbourhood. Such services are sought to be delivered in collaboration with our strategic partners in the public sector through a single counter in a way that eases the hassles of processing and timing of delivering handy services to the inhabitants of residential districts, besides addressing the requirements of the anticipated demographic growth. The newly built customers service centers, which are being opened successively, enable a direct interaction with residents towards identifying their needs so closely, which paves the way for delivering effective and efficient services.

"These service centers help the Municipal System and other government entities boost the satisfaction of customers and the local community, besides engaging the community in the decision-making process based on their needs. Such a move will boost the partnership between the government bodies and community members, besides promoting the principles of governance and transparency in the business of the municipal system and relevant strategic partners. It will also leverage the competitive edge of the municipal system and its contribution to building a sustainable economy capable of raising the quality of life and the profile of Abu Dhabi Emirate at the regional and international levels," he continued.

The municipal system in Abu Dhabi Emirate intends to proceed ahead with a plan to broaden the scope of services through opening plenty of municipal centers in future as dictated by the need of districts and the development drive witnessed by Abu Dhabi and suburban areas.
