18 January 2015 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates): Manchester Business School (MBS) Middle East Centre, will host a free public seminar on advanced strategic management, by Professor Kevin Jagiello, Strategic Management Director on the Global MBA programme, from the Faculty of Strategic Management at MBS. The seminar is being held at Dubai World Trade Centre as part of the MBS Guest Speaker Series, in which visiting MBS faculty present seminars, which are free of charge and open to the public.

Advanced Strategic Management

Tuesday, 20 January 2015 - 6.30-8.30pm

Dubai World Trade Centre, Al Ain B Meeting Room

Pre-registration required at mbsevents@mbs-worldwide.ae

Seminar highlights:

The seminar will introduce powerful strategic management concepts in two areas: overviewing a strategic position, and structural attractiveness of a business.

The Strategic Position and Action Evaluation (SPACE) framework evaluates a business across four dimensions - Internal financial strength; competitive advantage;

external industry/market attractiveness; and environmental stability. Most managers understand the framework straight away and use it to evaluate their business areas' past, present and future strategic positions.

The Profit Impact of Market Strategy (PIMS) business unit database is unique. It captures the real life experiences of over 20,000 business units in detail. The key areas of business unit performance identified by the PIMS database will be briefly overviewed before focusing on two of the key drivers of performance - Market Perceived Quality, and Value.

Randa Bessiso, Director - Middle East, Manchester Business School, comments: "Our MBS Guest Speaker Series is increasingly popular and offers free and easy access to some of the leading business thinkers in their fields - the MBS faculty who teach our part-time MBA programmes around the world.
