UAE Award winning program prepares emerging talent to be the future business leaders of tomorrow
Dunia Finance (dunia), a leading UAE-based financial services provider, is bringing back its most popular initiative this summer, the Dunia Young Business Leaders Program, which aims to equip ambitious young people with the skills and knowledge to become future business leaders.
The program, set to take place between July 4 and July 16, exposes participating students to insight and expertise from respected industry leaders and entrepreneurs, giving them a chance to fine tune their leadership skills and commercial understanding. The students will also get the chance to work with a select group of first and second year university students, as well as Year 11 and 12 high school students from a mix of nationalities, who are eager to learn and get more insight into what it takes to be a leader in the world of business and entrepreneurship.
During the program, students will learn how to establish, grow and lead a company, along with developing other key business skills, such as identifying and capitalising on new opportunities, learning how to allocate resources effectively, working as a professional team, and understanding the importance of corporate social responsibility.They will also get the chance to attend interactive workshops and case studies, roundtable discussions with top industry experts, and be inspired by talks delivered bysuccessful entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
dunia's Young Business Leaders Programproved to be a popular and highly successful initiative in its inaugural year, winning recognition for 'Innovation in Learning' at the respected Asian Leadership Awards in 2013. The significant achievements and overwhelmingly positive feedback about the program convinceddunia's management team to make it an annual feature among the company's numerous corporate social responsibility commitments.
This year's group comprises of 55 students - 15% larger cohort size than last year.The 55 young peoplecome from diversebackgrounds and ethnicitiesincluding American, Australian, Brazilian, British, Egyptian, Indian, Iranian, Pakistani, South Korean, Sudanese, andTurkish. Applications to join the program grew significantly vs. 2014 highlighting the growing demand for what is fast becoming known as one of the region's top internship programs.The selection process forthe course included an interview with management, completion of a standardised test, an essay exercise, and an assessment of the students overall GPA. The process was designed to reflect the toughrecruitment process for employment in the business world.
