11 government entities and 40,000 users registered in MyID

UAE, 1 February, 2015 - Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) has announced that Dubai Courts has joined the MyID service for ensuring a single sign-on with Dubai government services through smart phones or the Internet. MyID works in collaboration with the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), and with Dubai Courts signing up, now has 11 entities participating in the service.

Dubai Courts customers can now register electronically in the service to obtain a single sign-on (username and password) related to MyID, which gives them access to a large array of notary public services and enables them to register and track cases electronically, as well as the other services  provided by the other government entities participating in the service.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General of DSG, said: "DSG strives to provide the infrastructures and shared services to enable government entities to give the public smooth access to their services round the clock wherever they are, thereby contributing effectively to full transformation into smart government and to Dubai becoming the smartest city in the world in implementation of the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to shift to smart government and also the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to provide a single PIN to each customer in line with his "Dubai Government Towards 2021" initiative."

Bin Humaidan added: "Due to the overwhelming response from the public and the many calls that we received to inquire about the service and the best way to benefit from it, we responded to their requests and are constantly seeking to add new government entities that are considerably associated with the transactions of the public and are of concern to customers. To ensure easy and seamless registration, we have provided 24 electronic kiosks all over Dubai including the customer halls in government entities, DEWA main centre and 6 affiliated service centres, DED main centre and 8 affiliated service centres, Dubai Mall and many other areas. These entities are fully co-operating with us for supporting the transformation into smart government in Dubai and bolstering public-private partnership in a move to promote the use of government services offered to the public based on the great response received from the public."

The website (https://myid.dubai.gov.ae) enables all customers of Dubai government entities participating in the service to register in MyID and leverage various features from the unified login to all electronic and smart services provided by government entities through a single sign-on instead of registering with different accounts. Registering in MyID enables a customer to access all the websites of government entities and move from one website to another easily and smoothly using one username and one password to get their services from one place round the clock with easy, fast and limited steps.   MyID adheres to robust security measures based on standard technologies which comply with the standards of Dubai Government's Government Service Bus, thereby giving customers enhanced confidence and security.

The service is witnessing a growing response from the business sector and the public for registering in it. According to the latest statistics announced by DSG, as many as 40,000 users have so far registered in the service to be able to easily access the services provided by the 11 government entities currently participating in the service; namely, DED, DEWA, RTA, DM, GDRFA, DPP, DHA, MRHE, DSG, Dubai Police and Dubai Courts.  The service allows those who possess card readers to complete registration from home or office without the need to register through the kiosk.

DSG also revealed the addition of new features to the MyID service, offering customers more convenient and timesaving facilities. These include re-setting the Emirates ID's PIN through the service's touch screen. Other features include providing the MyID website with a user guide, additional data and improving the performance of the service including the look and feel of the website.

In addition, DSG offers round-the-clock support to all MyID customers through its unified contact centre AskDubai on 600 560 000 or via help@dsg.gov.ae.
