DAMMAM: Upholding the claim of the National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC) to 125 square kilometers of land in the Haradh area of the Eastern Province in a five-year-old dispute, a court in Alkhobar on Tuesday ordered Saudi Aramco to vacate the land.

The property has been used by Saudi Aramco for laying pipes and excavations. NADEC has demanded that Saudi Aramco pay a compensation of SR3.5 billion for occupying its land for years, said Faleh Al-Jarallah, director of legal administration at NADEC. He added that the Haradh court had issued a title deed to the land in favor of NADEC. The company owns over 100,000 hectares of farmland in the region.
