Dubai will have 70 Amer centers by the end of 2018 and these will provide job opportunities to more than 1,000 people, GDRFA has contended.

As many as 21 new smart Amer centers have been established and opened since the beginning of this year, said Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.

He added that 19 more Amer centers would be opened by the second quarter of 2018 - which means 40 centers in all - that shall provide 1,000 jobs for UAE citizens.

By the end of this year, the number of newly-opened Amer centers would reach 70, pointed out Al Marri, adding that for every center, 15 UAE citizens would get a job.

Al Marri paid a visit to six new centers in Mamzar, the Dubai Mall, the Waterfront, Al Rigga Street, the Chinese Market, and in Marhaba Mall.

Brigadier General Hussein Ibrahim, assistant general manager of Dubai Residency Support Sector, Brig Gen Awad Al Awaim, assistant general manager of Human Resources and Finance, and a number of senior officers of GDRFA, Dubai, along with Al Marri took stock of the work in the six centers. They also listened to customers' feedback on the quality of the services and ways to improve it.

Al Marri emphasised that the new Amer centers provide high quality services (ranked as 5 stars). He added that to bring about more happiness to the people is the prime target of GDRFA Dubai.
