Amman, Jordan: talabat Jordan, the region’s leading food delivery and Q-commerce platform, has successfully concluded its Ramadan initiatives which were implemented throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan as part of its corporate responsibility strategy to combat hunger.

At the end of the Holy Month, the ‘Food Parcels’ initiative, through which talabat Jordan supported the Jordanian Food Bank, resulted in the incredible involvement of the community in meeting the needs of several beneficiaries of the bank. Through the initiative, donors were able to use the talabat app to select food parcels of various sizes available, where a total of 186 parcels - equivalent to 20,100 meals,  were prepared in talabat mart’s "Dark Stores" distribution centers and donated to those in-need throughout the region.

The food parcels initiative facilitated a modern link between citizens that were willing and able to donate, and those less fortunate, allowing donors to easily contribute without the need to leave their homes. The initiative was operated through talabat mart in addition to its daily orders, ensuring quick, accurate and efficient processing and delivery to beneficiaries.

talabat Jordan’s second initiative, #AlwaysThere, was implemented in line with the United Nation’s World Food Programme and localized in all talabat countries of operation throughout the Middle East to actively participate in addressing the issue of hunger and facilitate donations to communities in need through their platform. For every order placed on the talabat app during Iftar time each Sunday of the Holy Month, talabat Jordan donated the value of a meal to the World Food Programme, reaching a total of 32,080 meals during Ramadan. Donations were distributed to the WFP operations supporting communities within the MENA region.

Commenting on this matter, Hala Siraj, Managing Director of talabat Jordan said: “We believe in the importance of joining efforts to maximize the benefit of any charitable and humanitarian initiative, which is a driving force behind our dedicated support of civil society organizations. This Ramadan, we supported two of the most important hunger relief organizations –  whose goals and values are aligned with our own –  to not only contribute to the alleviation of hunger and food scarcity, but to also open the door for our generous and compassionate Jordanian society to be part of the solution.”

The two initiatives are part of a series of charitable operations developed by talabat Jordan in line with the national development priorities, with the purpose of highlighting its positive and sustainable footprint on the local community.

It is noteworthy that during Ramadan this year, in addition to the two hunger relief initiatives, talabat Jordan enabled its users to donate to a number of other charitable civil society organizations through the application, resulting in a total  7,100 Jordanian Dinars donated during the Holy Month. Following the end of Ramadan, talabat users will be able to continue to donate to the list of organizations at any time throughout the year.

Consumers can now download talabat on the iOS App Store or Google Play Store to donate to a range of causes.
