Dubai – The Emirates Esports announces its membership in the Global Esports Federation. The historic milestone was first revealed by Global Esports Federation at the Connected @Townhall session held on Tuesday, where it welcomed the 100th Member Federation – the Emirates Esports, representing the United Arab Emirates.

The Emirates Esports, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout al Nahyan, as President, actively promotes esports in the United Arab Emirates and is firmly committed to advancing the GEF’s values of equality, fair play, diversity, inclusion, and innovation. This new relationship with the Global Esports Federation will bring the Emirates Esports Association further access to the vast global network of events, leaders, experts, tech companies, publishers, gamers, and sponsors. It furthers His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa al Nahyan’s vision of developing a world class esports ecosystem in the UAE providing opportunities for the UAE’s youth in gaming, coding, robotics, and events; providing opportunities for esports business development; and providing opportunities for esports and gaming tourism industry.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout al Nahyan said, “This powerful collaboration with the Global Esports Federation continues Emirates Esports even greater opportunities for the youth, gamers, esports enthusiasts, and local businesses in the UAE.

In its 50th year, our nation has become widely recognised as a hub for the esports and gaming world. A growing community  for publishers, teams and developers. This partnership furthers our agenda and we welcome all to the United Arab Emirates. ”

The global gaming industry is projected to generate US$300 billion in revenue by 2025, with the MENA region witnessing the highest growth rates. Additionally, the esports sector is growing twice as fast in MENA than the global average due in part to a young population.
