KUWAIT CITY: The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers has informed the Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development that the Supreme Committee for Corona Emergencies has given the nod for the private nurseries to resume work from the beginning of the next academic year, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to official correspondences, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers addressed the Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development and the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr Misha’an Al-Otaibi about the plan for the nurseries to resume work.

In the context of the correspondence, it was stated that the Supreme Committee had agreed on April 28, in principle, to allow private nurseries to work provided that the ministries of Social Affairs and Health put in place a mechanism to protect children from infection with the corona virus, and provide the Corona Emergency Committee a report about efforts made by the nurseries in this regard.

The correspondence stated the committee reviewed on June 13 the letter from the minister of Social Affairs sent on June 7 regarding a plan for the return of nurseries, which was prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and after discussion, the committee decided to approve the plan for the reopening of nurseries at the beginning of next school year.
