New guidelines, rules for billboards in Abu Dhabi

Applicants needs to seek permission before installing an advertising board.

Abu Dhabi's Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities has issued a decision approving guidelines and regulations - Law no. 2 for year 2017 - about advertising boards and billboards.

The regulations aims to maintain Abu Dhabi's urban appearance, wam reported.

Under the rules, Municipalitypermission is required to install advertising boards, which have to be designed as per the dimensions and design guidelines mentioned in the regulations.


Applicants need to pay the relevant fees for the application process under the regulations in order to get permission.

Additionally, the law highlights that permission must be sought 15 days before installing the billboard.

The Municipality will determine the billboard's validity period.
