Cairo – Egypt has produced 5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 2.5 million will be supplied this week, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed said.

A total of 2 million doses will be supplied each week as a new production line has been added at Giza's vaccine facility which will start operations in November with a capacity of 300,000 doses per day, Zayed added in a statement on Wednesday.

So far, about 13 million citizens have been vaccinated as the country accelerated the vaccination process especially for employees at state administrative bodies and the Ministry of Education.
