Dubai, UAE – Counting down to the dynamic and history making multi-day Model United Nations (MUN) conference, highlights of EXPOMUN’s simulated debates of the U.N. General Assembly and Committees include SDGs and the African Union, for example sustainable development and foreign aid.

A mere 100 days away, the UNA in UAE is seeing a flood of early applications from global middle and secondary school MUN aspiring delegates who’ll join university delegates to participate in what will be a multiple world record making conference.

MUN facilitates research and role play on the concerns and the work of the United Nations. And students learn experientially about key global issues and international relations. UAE is home to over three dozen MUN school clubs, with nearly a 1,000 student members (‘MUNers’).

As EXPOMUN sets out to make multiple world records, students from over 200 nations and territories are invited to apply. Due to Covid-19 restrictions capacity will be limited to up to 400 delegates, making applications highly competitive. And, all MUNers interested can opt to attend virtually for which the application process is simplified.

All participants will receive EXPOMUN certificates and be eligible for awards and world record inclusion. For further information or to apply for EXPOMUN visit www.expomun.org

According to Lisa La Bonté, Secretary-General of the United Nations Association in UAE, the citizens’ movement of the U.N., “EXPOMUN will stimulate substantial dialogue and debate by youth who represent the up and coming generation of diplomats. Armed with intelligence, energy, and enthusiasm for world affairs and savvy cross-cultural understanding, young delegates will honor the Expo theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ to consider resolutions to some of the most critical issues impacting the planet today.”
