Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Said bin Sulaiman Al Aufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, issued Decree No. 362/2019 to lift the ban on the import of live birds from nine countries.


In a statement issued by Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said: “Competent Veterinary Authority on the Elimination of the Prohibition of the Importation of Live Birds their products, derivatives and residues from the Austrian Republic, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Finland, the Republic of Italy, the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Ivory Coast, Malaysia and the Kingdom of Cambodia, as required by the public interest.”

“The competent authorities shall implement this resolution, each within its field of competence. The Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force from the date of its issuance which was issued on 18 November 2019.” Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries added.
