KUWAIT CITY: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation sent a revised request for operation of its national airlines (Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways) to commence operation of commercial flights with India, Egypt and a number of Asian countries which was recently approved by the Cabinet.

Kuwait Airways submitted a request to operate flights to Egypt with two flights per day to Cairo International Airport and 3 flights per week to Alexandria. Kuwait Airways also submitted a request to operate flights with India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

No national carriers have applied to operate with Nepal so far, reports Al Anba. Jazeera Airways submitted a request to operate two flights per day to Cairo.

Al Jazeera also submitted a request to operate one flight per day to India and Sri Lanka with one flight per week.

Sources stated that 10 days from now flight operations should begin as matter entirely depends upon the speed of response from civil aviation authorities of various countries in coming days
