Sharjah: VPS Healthcare, one of Middle East’s largest healthcare group, opened its 23rd hospital – Burjeel Specialty Hospital – in Sharjah on Wednesday. The medicare facility at Al Kuwait Street was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Salim Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Salim Al Qasimi, Court Chief of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and member of Federal Supreme Council of the UAE.

The 75-bed hospital, in 16000 square meters, with the most advanced machines and technology offers top-notch tertiary, primary and critical care services. The facility will now cater to all the medical needs of the residents of the Emirate round-the-clock.

The multispecialty hospital has various specialties including cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, women and child care, bariatric surgery, family medicine, internal medicine, ENT, dermatology, diet and nutrition, pulmonology and dentistry. The hospital also has the most advanced radiology, laboratory facilities.

Speaking at the inaugural function VPS Healthcare Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil said that we are extremely happy and proud to open Burjeel Specialty Hospital in the Emirate of Sharjah.

"The medical facility will be providing quality and affordable services to the people of the Emirate. We have eminent doctors on board with proven skills. We are committed to redefining the healthcare sector in Sharjah," he added. 

Dr. Vayalil also expressed his gratitude to the rulers of the Emirate for their unconditional support and cooperation.

The inaugural function was attended by dignitaries including, Abdulla Ali Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Butti Al Muhairi, Director of Sharjah Health Authority, Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector in the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of Sharjah Medical Zone, Brigadier General Arif Mohammed Al Sharif, Director General of Human Resources and Support Services Department of Sharjah Police.
