Sharjah: Visitors to Sharjah’s Al Noor Island can enjoy activities and attractions organised by the picturesque eco-architectural destination in different packages to suit all ages and pockets.

The experiences include separate guided tours of the island, Noor Café, the Butterfly House, Tropical Labyrinth, By the Bay dining, Junior Butterfly Keeper, Young Island Explorer, as well as pre-booked packages such as Yoga at Sunrise, Nurture Nature, Café Activities and Art sessions for children.

Island Guided Tour

While visitors are welcome to embark on self-guided tours of the island, they can also opt for a guided tour with an educator who will teach them about the abundant nature that surrounds the area and provide information to them on the various art installations on the island.

Noor Café

A self-guided tour to see all attractions on the island with the addition of a meal to enjoy at the Noor Café after all the walking around. The meal can be a choice between breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Butterfly House

Visitors who opt for this package will get to learn from an experienced educator about more than 20 exotic species from different parts of the world that are being fostered in their natural habitat.

Tropical Labyrinth

This package is for those who are interested in exploring and learning about plants, trees and birds. Visitors will be led by a resident educator on a guided experience of the Butterfly House followed by a flora and fauna trek on the island.

By the Bay

This includes a guided tour of the island followed by a ‘Sky Watch’ night astronomy session with an educator. A special dining experience on the shoreline with views of the cityscape is also a part of the package. The Sky Watch session is subject to weather conditions.

Junior Butterfly Keeper

This is part of a family package which includes a guided tour of the Butterfly House with an educator and a one-hour training session on rearing butterflies. This session is ideal for children between six and 15 years old.

Young Island Explorer

Another family package where visitors will be provided a specially designed map of the island along with an explorer toy kit which will aid them in discovering interesting bits of information. This will be followed by a tour of the Butterfly House guided by an educator.

The following workshops will require pre-booking:

Yoga at Sunrise

These are specially designed sessions where visitors can learn to practice yoga at sunrise in order to stimulate the senses, enhance flexibility and tone the muscles.

Nature Nurture workshops

Families, schoolchildren and individuals opting for this workshop can learn from experts about various indoor gardening techniques, including the Japanese art of Kokedama.

Café workshops

These include expert sessions on decorating cupcakes.

Get Artsy workshops

This includes art and craft activities such as colouring, paper art and origami, among others.

Al Noor Island’s working hours are from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight on weekends. The Butterfly House is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

About Al Noor Island:
