Including a Key Session for His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and a Number of Ministers

Aqdar World Summit is set to begin this Tuesday 21 November 2017 in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre -ADNEC, with the participation of 57 top-notch speakers from different parts of the world and 50 exhibitors. The event attracted 59 papers, and it will host 24 workshops.

The first edition of the Aqdar World Summit is being held in cooperation with the United Nations, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the UAE Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Education and Knowledge Authority, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai and INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions - a member of INDEX Holding, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) for a period of 3 days.

The opening ceremony will include a key speech by His Excellency Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education (United Arab Emirates); in addition to five main sessions for each of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance (United Arab Emirates), Her Excellency Jamila Bint Salem Musabah Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education (United Arab Emirates), His Excellency, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Head of Education and Knowledge Department (United Arab Emirates), His Excellency, Dr. Abdulla Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai – UAE, and Her Excellency, Hessa Bint Isa Buhameed, Minister of Community Development (United Arab Emirates).

Moreover, the summit will include sessions for Dr. Hatem Ali, Director, Regional Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) United Arab Emirates, Dr. Boyan Radoykov, Chief of Section, Communication and Information Sector (UNESCO), and Professor Dr. Christian W Haerpfer, President of the World Values Survey Association (WVSA), and the opening ceremony will also feature a vocal performance on “Tolerant UAE’ by Hussein Al Jasmi.

Aqdar World Summit will also feature a number of activities that will include an annual conference that is attended by local and international officials, a continuous education program, a future of innovation zone, a specialized exhibition for companies and organizations, and a number of professional workshops and parenting workshops.

The opening ceremony will also include the launch of the accompanying exhibition, which includes presentations for many international and national institutions, and the launch of the second edition of "Express Your Love for the UAE" in addition to a number of other initiatives.

During the summit, special emphasis will be laid on ‘Moral Deviation’, which will be addressed as a key topic in 59 scientific papers, 5 main sessions, 9 discussion sessions, 12 expert and specialist workshops and 12 workshops for parents and community members. All workshops are being held in cooperation and partnership with various competent institutions of the UAE and other international institutions abroad, in addition to 4 special youth sessions.

Over the 3 days of the international summit, 57 officials and experts will discuss various topics covering many important issues on the knowledge and scientific dimensions of education and the key role of international and regional institutions in overcoming the challenges of intellectual extremism and moral deviation, while also aiming to define "moral education" from a national and global perspective.

The summit will also review the most important preventive roles played by moral education in overcoming the abuse of political, economic, and religious conflicts, particularly among youth groups, prone to intellectual extremism and moral deviation, while also emphasizing on the need to address the relationship between globalization and cultural specificities and the extent to which education can help in bridging their relationship.

Aqdar World Summit will also address the roles and responsibilities of Arab and international institutions and their mechanisms to promote ethical values in education while also exploring these issues from a national perspective, including the key role played by many governmental, private, civil society and media organizations.

With the support and collaboration of a number of key government and private institutions in the region and abroad, the summit, aims to offer a number of key recommendations, keeping in mind the moral and ethical dimensions, while also exploring ways to achieve consensus among various social and political components, in order to reduce or minimize the causes and motives of intellectual extremism and moral deviation.
