HAMBURG- Jordan's state grains buyer purchased 60,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in a tender for up to 120,000 tonnes which closed on Tuesday, traders said.

It was bought at $229.90 a tonne c&f for shipment in the second half of July from trading house Agro Chirnogi, they said.

Other participants in the tender with their offers were Ameropa which offered $231.79 a tonne c&f, Cerealcom Dolj which offered $232.39 a tonne c&f and CHS offering $234.93 a tonne c&f, they said.

In recent months, Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses. But recent tenders have been more successful.

In its last reported tender on Jan. 14, Jordan purchased 60,000 tonnes at $232.50 a tonne c&f also for shipment in the second half of July.
