Muscat: The Sultanate has lifted the ban on import of live birds from certain countries including Saudi Arabia.

His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries issued Ministerial Decision No.146/2020 to lift the ban on importing live birds.

According to the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Royal Decree No.45/2004, and the executive regulations of the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Ministerial decision 107/2008, and Ministerial Resolution No. 61/2020 prohibiting the import of live birds from some countries, and to the recommendation of the competent veterinary authority to eliminate the reason for banning importing live birds from the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Romania, the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Ukraine, Kenya and Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and upon the requirements of the public interest, it was decided to:

"Lift the import ban of live birds, their products, derivatives and residues from the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Romania, the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Ukraine, Kenya and Saudi Arabia."
