Fujairah has announced tightened restrictions across the emirate in the UAE's latest bid to limit the spread of Covid-19.

The fresh directive involves reduced capacities across various commercial establishments and public services, as follows:

  • Public beaches and parks to 70%
  • Shopping malls to 60%
  • Cinemas to 50%
  • Gyms to 50%
  • Swimming pools at hotels to 50%
  • Public transport services to 50%

Fujairah Municipality also announced the suspension of all concerts, music events and social gatherings.

Additionally, tables at restaurants and cafes must maintain a 2-metre distance between them. A maximum of four people will be allowed per table.

Employees working in the service sector will have to undergo mandatory PCR tests every two weeks. However, those who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus will be exempt.
