DUBAI- Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received a high-level delegation, headed by Isabelle Kocher, CEO of Engie Group. The visit is in line with DEWA's objectives to leverage cooperation with major global companies, as well as the exchange of knowledge and sharing of best practices in the energy sector.

Al Tayer welcomed the French delegation and emphasised the importance of such meetings which would enhance cooperation. He presented DEWAs most important programmes, projects, and initiatives in line with the ambitious vision of the leadership and achieving the objectives of the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 to ensure a happy future and a better life for nation's future generations, and to raise the status of the UAE to be among the best countries in the world.

Al Tayer briefed the delegation on DEWA's efforts to establish the infrastructure for electricity and water services in Dubai, as per the highest of standards and global best practices. He explained that the authority's strategic priorities are energy supply security, and the positioning of Dubai to become a global role model regarding energy efficiency and reliability, and ensuring a sustainable green economy.

DEWA is currently establishing the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park which will become the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the Independent Power Producer, IPP, model with a total planned capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030 and a total investment of AED50 billion.

The Engie Group delegation also presented their latest solutions and technologies in the field of energy production to develop smart and sustainable solutions which support a low carbon economy. The delegation expressed their interest in participating in DEWA projects to achieve the sustainable development of Dubai.
