Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday that it will tender six wastewater treatment projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in 2024.

The five Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) projects and the sole Small Sewage Treatment Plants (SSTPs) and Collection Network project will treat wastewater for reuse in non-agriculture municipal and industrial applications, the National Centre for Privatisation & PPP (NCP) said.

The five ISTPs represent an aggregate wastewater treatment capacity of 650,000 cubic metres per day (m3/day).

The projects would be procured by the Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture, under Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) contracts.

Saudi Arabia is also offering seven desalination projects and 10 strategic reservoir projects under the PPP model.
