• Increased regionalization of value chains to better serve Gulf countries among Wilo’s key strategies

Wilo Middle East, a German manufacturer of pumps and systems, is set to join the 1st edition of NMI Gulf Future Conference (GFC) on November 30, 2021, in Dubai to support discussions of future opportunities, synergies and fields of cooperation between Germany and the Gulf region and to shed light on its regional contributions as a solutions provider for building services, water management and industrial sectors.

The NMI Gulf Future Conference will be hosted live in-person and seeks to facilitate dialogue between government and business leaders from the MENA region and Germany on key topics including, digitalization, supply chains, energy, and new business models. Organized by North Africa Middle East Initiative of German Business (NMI) and hosted by the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK UAE), the conference will convene over 300 leaders and industry key players in the presence of H.E Frank-Walter Steinmer, Federal President of Germany, and other ministers from GCC as they exchange information and market updates, discuss challenges and synergies, and network for more collaborations across major industries.

In addition, Wilo seeks to leverage the event to further network with leaders from both the public and private sectors as it plans to expand its presence in the MENA region as a manufacturer and supplier of pumps products.

On behalf of the company and as one of the esteemed panelists, Jens Dallendoerfer, Chief Sales Officer – Sales Region emerging Markets of Wilo Group, will speak on the second session of the conference themed ‘How Resilient are your Supply Chains?’. Jens will shed light on how the COVID-19 pandemic magnified the weaknesses of the interconnected global supply chains. One of the solutions is to increase the range and quantity of locally manufactured products and to strengthen the regionalization of value chains. Wilo’s “region-for-region” business model ensures continuity and resilience in the pump management sector and encourages regional centralization in terms of product manufacturing.

Wilo, a Gold sponsor of the event, will also highlight its contributions as a reliable partner of the Gulf countries in providing efficient pumps and systems to support their strategies, vision and goals aligned with climate protection and sustainability. The company seeks to increase its sustainable products and solutions in line with its Hydrogen Strategy starting from 2022.

Jens Dallendoerfer said: “We are pleased to join the first NMI Gulf Future Conference and to speak alongside distinguished panel members. The event comes in time when various sectors and industries are experiencing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as climate change. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss and explore solutions to water scarcity, one of the impacts of climate change in the Gulf region. German companies can bring their expertise on energy-efficiency and sustainability to help address the region’s water concern, and Wilo is more than willing to support and explore opportunities in this very important area.”

“There is also a growing need to further invest on local value chains, as what Wilo has been doing and promoting for years. We continue to pursue the goal of serving regional and local customers with locally manufactured products. Our ‘Made in the UAE’ pumps and systems contribute to positioning the nation as a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality pumps in the MENA region,” added Yasser Nagi, Managing Director of Wilo Middle East

The first session of the conference will discuss how Europe’s energy transition can potentially impact the Gulf countries, while the second part will shed light on supply chains and resiliency. Meanwhile, the last session will delve on new business models, digitalization, and the various challenges faced by the public sector.
