Sharjah: Lewis Capaldi is making his UAE debut at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah tomorrow (Friday), 17th January 2020, with international hits that include Someone You Loved which has clocked 75 million hits on YouTube.

His sold-out concert is part of the Al Majaz Amphitheatre’s new season of #letsmajaz.

“Buzzing to announce my first ever show in UAE! Can’t wait to get over (there)!” Capaldi posted recently on his Instagram account, to promote his show.

The Scottish singer and songwriter will also perform hits from his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. The album that came out in March last year remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks and achieved gold status in the UK only two weeks after release.

The breakout star of 2019 who has headlined the Bloom UK Tour and shared the stage with contemporary greats like Sam Smith and Bastille, added: “I am thrilled about my UAE debut at #letsmajaz in the nation’s cultural capital, Sharjah”.

“I cannot think of a better setting than the iconic open-air Al Majaz Amphitheatre to deliver my life’s works including several fan favourites. UAE, here I come!”, the young artist further noted.

Capaldi has been hailed as a child prodigy, playing the guitar and drums at age two and performing in restaurants by the age of nine.

Opening act by Dubai-based Scottish singer, Greg Pearson

Dubai-based singer/songwriter, Greg Pearson, also from Scotland, will open the evening’s performance with his hit singles, These Walls and Heart of a Lion, in keeping with Al Majaz Amphitheatre’s commitment to offer a launchpad for new and upcoming talents from around the world. A wonderful showman with a captivating stage presence, this will be Pearson’s first ever public performance on such a grand scale.

Al Majaz Amphitheatre has emerged as the UAE’s popular cultural and entertainment destination, hosting world-class cultural events and concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists and superstars from across the Arab world and around the world.
