Allow Users to Quickly Configure and Expand Power Distribution Network

Dubai-UAE: 06 May, 2013

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, today introduced the 150kVA and 175kVA Modular Power Distribution Units. The scalable units allow users to rapidly configure and expand their power distribution network.

Built on industry-standard power distribution components, the Modular Power Distribution Units are equipped with TP-1 rated isolation transformers, which efficiently deliver power to the load while minimizing cooling demand. A built-in circuit monitoring system delivers a complete view of power usage throughout the distribution network. Featuring quick status informational LEDs, integrated management, and breaker position monitoring capability, the units provide high levels of availability and manageability.

Modular Power Distribution Units are available in three standalone models: 480:208V, 480:415V and 600:208V. The units feature a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) frame reduced from 750mm to 600mm rack widths with NetShelter SX heavy duty rack. The back plane also supports up to 24 plug-in factory assembled and tested Power Distribution Modules that include breaker, cord, and connector in a quick-to-install form factor.

The units additionally incorporate a host of added functionalities including simplified load balancing with auto recognition of Power Distribution Module type, ampacity and length, as well as a 'PowerView' display interface that enables local management and monitoring. The new Power Distribution Units are also fully compatible with StruxureWare Central.

The 150kVA and 175kVA Modular Power Distribution Units join the complete line of Schneider Electric's scalable power protection available for data centres and facilities of varied sizes.
