The device has a trendy and stylish look that appeals to business executives. 

"Following Samsung D880 and D780's great success, we see a lot of potential for the new D980 in the Middle East region. In March 2008, the region represented 32% of the total D880 sales. Research has also shown that the region represents the highest potential for growth in the dual SIM market. Samsung D980 is enhanced with a large 2.6" QVGA LCD that offers a full touch navigation experience with drag and drop user interface. The display is large enough so it is not cramped when using touch screen, yet still enough to remain portable.

Samsung's D980 is equipped with TouchWiz UI offering a digilog (digital and analogue) experience, which brings new standards of convenience for the consumer navigating the mobile phone, from menu reorganization to a new look for the icons.  

Furthermore, Samsung D980 is enhanced with advanced multimedia and music capabilities.  The phone comes with a 5 mega pixel digital camera, 3X digital zoom, image stabilization, record MPEG and H.263 videos as well as playback of video files at 30 fps in VGA resolution. The D980 is also equipped with a music player that supports various music formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-ACC+, AMR, MIDI, SP-MIDI, i-melody, etc.

Samsung D980 is equipped with a 2.0USB, Bluetooth 2.0 to provide the consumer with faster data transfers and wireless connections to enable the user to be connected to a range of peripherals including wireless headsets and mobile printing.

The D980 comes with a large 1200mA battery that allows the mobile to access dual roaming. The larger battery compensates for the power-consuming roaming features, allowing users to access the features of the mobile without depleting the battery life.

Samsung D980 is available across the region in all major electronics outlet stores and is retailed at AED 1699*.
