Abu Dhabi, 23 April 2012: One of the key hurdles for doctors in training is passing the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians examination, according to Professor Karim Meeran.
He said that the main challenge is finding the time to study before the MRCP exams. "We know how difficult it is for doctors in training to be able to focus on pre-exam studies, so for the second time this year we are bringing both the MRCP part 1 and part 2 courses to Abu Dhabi."
He said that the next programmes will run for three days in July at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi.
"To support junior doctors before their exam attempt, the UK's Hammersmith Medicine, in partnership with Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, is now running MRCP 1 and MRCP 2 courses in ICLDC's purpose-designed Lecture Theatre in the capital."
The programmes will be presented by Professor Meeran, along with Hammersmith Medicine's Dr John Chambers and Dr Amir Sam. All three doctors are specialists with Imperial College London.
"Indeed, these courses are very popular with a past delegate saying '...the quality is truly excellent...'," Professor Meeran said.
He also confirmed that both MRCP 1 and 2 are accredited by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) for 21 hours Continued Medical Examination credits.
