New products from Zebra, Belden CDT and Symbol offer OnLine partners wider options in enterprise solutions
Middle East, 22 February 2005: OnLine Distribution, the Middle East's leading distributor for networking products and solutions has added new products from Zebra and Belden CDT to further its offering for the enterprise market.
"OnLine is focused on expanding our portfolio with products that bring 'real-benefit' to our customers," said Keith Rich, MD, OnLine Distribution. "All our vendors introduce new technology and products regularly in keeping with the needs of the target market. We endeavour to bring the best of these to our partners in the region."
Zebra Technologies - RFID Printer / Encoder for SAP's new Auto Infrastructure
OnLine has introduced Zebra's new and the world's first RFID smart label printer/encoders designed to interoperate with SAP AG's Auto-ID Infrastructure (AII). The new Zebra XML-based solution enables SAP users to implement compliant "slap-and-ship" RFID solutions, without costly middleware and associated integration efforts.
Zebra's RFID printing and encoding technology has tremendous synergy with SAP's RFID Auto-ID Infrastructure. The technology allows for solutions to help retail and government suppliers quickly and cost-effectively comply with RFID mandates slated to take effect beginning in January 2005.
"RFID enables process change that will ultimately shift supply chain operations to a new level of efficiency. Working together, Zebra and SAP have created an integrated hardware and software solution for RFID that provides a better SAP customer experience and enables SAP customers to more quickly, easily and cost-effectively deploy fully compliant RFID solutions," said Venu Menon, Divisional Director, OnLine Distribution.
BELDEN CDT - PowerSense
Belden CDT Networking announces its PowerSense line of high-performance power distribution products, designed specifically for Power over Ethernet applications. Power over Ethernet infrastructure technology enables power to be delivered to network devices such as IP telephones, wireless LAN access points, security cameras, access control devices and other enterprise terminals over the existing data connection (standard Category 5 or better LAN cabling), without modifying or replacing the infrastructure already in place. Power over Ethernet is also a necessity for the Voice-over-IP (VoIP) solution, as this service requires an alternative power source for IP telephones.
Phani Lolla, product manager for the Network Infrastructure Business Unit at OnLine Distribution pointed out, "Belden CDT Networking's PowerSense Midspan In-Line Hubs add power to the spare pairs of the system's network cable without disturbing the transmission of data. Similar to patch panels, these hubs are installed between the existing Ethernet switch and the LAN devices."
PowerSense Midspan hubs fully comply with stringent IEEE 802.3af standards (PoE Protocol), meet FCC requirements, and are compatible with Cisco CDPTM enabled Ethernet switches. Additionally, they have been CE and CB tested and approved for worldwide use. It offers several outstanding features and benefits for the Power over Ethernet network, including 24, 20, 10 and 1-port modular chassis designs that enable users to install additional modules as needed, making the system both flexible and scaleable; each module's ability to auto-detect the device's power requirements, allowing for transparent 10/100 Mb/s data transmission and being 'hot swappable,' allowing maximum uptime and easy, cost-effective maintenance.
Complementing PowerSense Midspan power hubs is a comprehensive line of network connectivity components. The line includes PoE connectors, Plug and Play Ethernet and Fast Ethernet media converters, UTP or Fiber Optic transceivers, an Ethernet hub that accepts UTP, Fiber Optic or BNC transceivers, and the RealtimeTM Ethernet Network Tester.
All PowerSense products carry a full two-year warranty and are manufactured and tested to conform to the following quality and environmental standards.
BELDEN CDT - IBDN System 10GX
Belden CDT Networking announced the launch of its Belden IBDN System 10GX - a revolutionary end-to-end UTP cabling solution for 10 Gigabit Ethernet service. The Belden IBDN System 10GX was designed and engineered from the ground up to meet the high-speed, high-bandwidth needs of 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks today - and in the future.
Unlike other 10 Gigabit Ethernet offerings currently on the market, the Belden IBDN System 10GX solution is not simply an improved or boosted Category 6 system, but rather a whole new UTP solution designed around a series of dynamic enabling technologies. In addition, because it is copper-based, it offers the greatest overall economies in new installs, plus it provides a seamless and cost-effective upward migration path from existing 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T cable plants. Commercial enterprises can therefore optimize their IT strategy and network performance while protecting their technology investments.
Symbol DS3400
The DS3400 Series industrial bar-code scanners from Symbol Technologies use digital imaging technology to accurately capture all types of two-dimensional (2D) and one-dimensional (1D) bar codes while offering the high performance typically found only in laser scanners. For capturing images and bar codes, the DS3408 is ideal. But if image capture and transfer capability is what you need, the DS3407 is perfect for today's applications, such as digital document storage and processing, as well as for image capture applications of the future.
The DS3400 Series provides resilience and performance in a ruggedized package. The scanners' are sealed to industry-leading IP65 standards against rain and dust, is designed to withstand repeated drops of up to six-and-a-half feet (two meters) onto concrete. Their design virtually eliminates the chances of downtime occurring as a result of damage from being dropped. It is designed for today's manufacturing environment and offers the high performance needed to take advantage of the new 2D bar codes requirements of the factory floor.
