INJAZ Al-Arab has been ranked by 'NGO Advisor' as one of the top 100 most influential NGOs in the world. The list recognizes the dynamics and innovations of the non-profit world and the level of impact its key players have on a social, economic, and humanitarian level. INJAZ Al-Arab's recognition is in great part due to their on-going initiatives to empower Arab youth and tackle unemployment across the MENA region.
"We are proud of the outstanding efforts and innovation that led NGO Advisor to rank INJAZ Al-Arab as one of the top 100 NGOs in the world for 2016. This accomplishment is the result of the maximized efforts of INJAZ Al-Arab team under the umbrella of the great global network of JA Worldwide." commented Akef Aqrabawi, Chief Executive Officer, INJAZ Al-Arab
He added: "This recognition is a testimony to our great dedication and commitment to promoting work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship amongst the youth in the region. It brings INJAZ Al-Arab great pride to be working within a great regional and global network of achievers and goal setters that have over the years challenged our capabilities to bring out the best of the Arab youth and the most notable of achievements."
INJAZ Al-Arab is a non-profit organization that drives youth education and training across the Arab World. It is the regional operating centre of JA Worldwide, one of the largest global NGOs dedicated to addressing fundamental social and economic challenges facing young people by educating and empowering them to transform their future and own their economic success.
Over 2 million students have participated in a broad base of entrepreneurship training opportunities to date. The training programs are aimed at developing basic business skills to start and run their own businesses, obtaining soft skills increasingly demanded by the private sector, and eventually fostering success in students' future careers.
Founded in 2004, the NGO operates in 14 countries across the MENA region through unique partnerships with governmental and private sector entities. During 2014-2015, INJAZ worked with over 1,792 schools through its strong partnership with ministries of education, 208 universities within its partnership with higher education, and cultivated a network of 7,241 corporate volunteers who implemented a series of business and entrepreneurship programs that impacted nearly 291,952 youth across the region.
NGO Advisor, the Geneva-based independent media organization, produces the Top 500 NGOs--a series of reviews of the best non-profit organizations from around the world. Currently on the fourth edition, NGO Advisor combines sound journalism with comprehensive research to highlight innovation, impact, and governance in the non-profit sector.
