Gibca Furniture Industry Co. Ltd. (LLC) believes all built environments and their occupants can benefit from intelligent sustainable design. Gibca has over the years worked in carefully selecting suppliers, production processes and products that support our stand towards sustainability.
Supporting the designers of the first convention and exhibition center of its kind to be built to the gold certification of the US Green Building council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Skyfold Partitions were selected as part of innovative technologies and strategies to enhance the venue's performance in the areas of water and energy efficiency, use of materials and resources and indoor environmental quality.
Combining cutting-edge design, functionality and sustainability, the recently-opened Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) is an unparalleled convention facility in a world-first green-technology venue. The spectacular 177,000 m2 structure has a LEED Gold rating, a first for a building of its type in the Middle East. QNCC's sheer size, sensational spaces over three levels and high-tech solutions have set new standards.
It has 40,000 m2 of exhibition space, a conference hall of 4,000 delegates, a 2,300 seat lyric-style theatre, three additional tiered auditoriums, theatre-style seating, banquet space for up to 10,000 people in the exhibition halls and a total of 52 meeting rooms.
The 40,000 m2 of exhibition space is quickly and easily divided into smaller spaces using Skyfold Powerlift Walls at the press of a button. The world's largest Skyfold walls at 11 meter-high and 63 meter-long are made from 65% pre-consumer recycled content and 35% post-consumer recycled content. Skyfold uses adhesives that are single-component, moisture-curing, hot-applied systems that are 100% solids and contains 0% solvents and 0% volatile organic compounds (VOC's).
