The GDN has introduced its new online classified section, providing customers with a dynamic platform for the hundreds of daily classified advertisements which make up Bahrain’s busiest and most successful marketplace.
The new section, called Classified Marketplace, is also linked to Al Hilal Group’s Arabian Business Community (ABC) Marketplace providing classified advertisers in the GDN with free added value reach to an additional 35,000 unique visitors on top of the current 145,000 individuals who read GDNonline each month.
Speaking about the launch of GDN’s Classified Marketplace, Ronnie Middleton Managing Director of Al Hilal Group said “Our new classified section is part of an ongoing revamp of the online platform of Bahrain’s leading English language daily newspaper. This reflects the creativity and dynamism which we as publishers are introducing into a highly competitive and ever changing market. We see a definite transition of our customer base into a complex mix of preferences across both print and digital platforms and we will continue to cater for our readers in whichever medium they prefer” said Middleton
Middleton points out that todays’ subscribers to the GDN still prefer to read the print edition of the publication “Currently only 10% of our subscribers read the GDN on line but in today’s world of publishing, we have to find the right balance between print and digital” said Middleton “Al Hilal, with its portfolio of consumer, trade and community based publications, websites, portals and social media platforms, has developed an integrated publishing strategy which will ensure that we provide our advertisers with the maximum reach to their target markets unmatched by any other medium in Bahrain”.
