EFS Facilities Services holds a two-day IFMA training program for the region's facilities managers
Dubai, 18 March 2012 UAE-based facilities management service provider EFS Facilities Services hosted the region's first Facility Management Professional Credential Program™ delivered by the International Facility Management Association in Dubai.
The FMP course in Operations and Maintenance was held on 14 and 15 March 2012, at the EFS Training & Development Centre in Dubai. More than 15 senior facility managers attended the comprehensive training and assessment program. The O&M program is one of four courses required for completion of the FMP Credential Program.
IFMA's FMP program is an assessment-based certificate program, the successful completion of which demonstrates a proven understanding of the foundation of facility management. The program is aligned with global best-practices certifying that it teaches and tests the knowledge demanded by today's FM industry.
"Since its founding more than 30 years ago, IFMA has been advancing the profession by identifying essential knowledge and skill sets for facility managers, regardless of where in the world they are performing their duties," said IFMA President and CEO Tony Keane. "The recently revised FMP designation is based on a comprehensive global job task analysis study and is a great example of a credential with international appeal. IFMA is pleased to bring this comprehensive program to Dubai and the Middle East, one of the most vibrant, important and growing regions of the world."
The two-day FMP program held in Dubai covered a wide range of competencies that are essential to the success of FM professionals in the region.
The first day included an overview of the O&M procedures with industry-specific and real-world case studies highlighting the application of various topics. Courses on assessment of facility requirements and management of buildings, materials and equipment in the O&M process were also conducted.
The second day covered development of service-level guidelines and service specifications. Resolving contract disputes, managing service level agreements and determining the asset life-cycle costs were also included in the program.
"As facilities management becomes an integral part of real estate development, we know this is the right time to launch IFMA training courses that are tailored to the meet the demands of the Middle East FM industry," said Tariq Chauhan, Group Managing Director, EFS Facilities Services. "These courses will help facility managers achieve technical excellence and deliver the best possible service to our clients. The FMP Credential Program will support the future growth and development of the FM industry in the region."
