New schedule offers Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters

Dubai, January 4, 2005: Emirates Cable TV and Multimedia (E-Vision), a subsidiary of Emirates Telecommunications corporation, has celebrated the beginning of the new year by announcing today that it had cut the prices of western and Hindi movies on e-View, its pay-per-view service.

Hollywood films can now be viewed for Dhs10, instead of Dhs14, and Bollywood titles for Dhs5 instead of Dhs7. The price cuts coincide with E-Vision unveiling its new film schedule that includes Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters and new movies.

Kamal Nassif, e-View's manager, said: "This reflects E-Vision's commitment to bring customers the latest releases while offering them real and affordable value. Our customers will have a choice of popular, blockbuster and critically acclaimed films at an attractive price."

Premiering on e-View will be the Bollywood crime-thriller Inteqam, a movie about a writer Avantika (Isha Kopikar) moving to Mumbai to write about the Indian police force. Her friend is killed in a manner similar to that described in her book. A series of murders follows, each connected in a sinister manner to the writer, making her the prime suspect.

Others in the pipeline include Hindi Blockbusters Fida and Naach, and the Hollywood hit Basic, starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson.  In addition to Dawn of the Dead, and the award-wining "Kandahar".
