United Arab Emirates, Dubai, April 11, 2010: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has recently begun registration for Dubai Residency Training Program for Medical Specialties (DRTP) for citizens and residents of the UAE.
The program provides specialization opportunities for medical graduates and registration to enroll into the program is valid until the 9th of May, 2010.
Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Qayed, Director of Medical Education Department at the DHA highlighted that the DRTP program is a competency based program that develops trainees to become specialists in a particular branch of medicine.
Dr Qayed explained that the period of training in the program ranges from four to six years , depending on the type of specialization and includes general surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry , emergency and family medicine.
Dr Qayed encouraged all medical graduates (medical residents) to enroll into the program and register through the DHA website www.dha.gov.ae
