Manama, Bahrain- The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), the leading institute for specialised training and development in the region, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain Bankers Trade Union, to provide training and development programmes and specialised courses for members of the Union.

The BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed AlShaikh, and the President of the Bahrain Bankers Trade Union, Ms. Noura Al-Faihani signed the agreement at the BIBF’s headquarters in Bahrain Bay. 

This agreement will provide a framework for cooperation between the BIBF and the Union, with the aim of providing training opportunities that contribute to developing the capabilities and skills of the union’s members who are working in the banking sector in the Kingdom.

On this occasion, the BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed AlShaikh confirmed that the cooperation with the Bahrain Bankers Trade Union reflects the BIBF’s commitment to providing high-level qualitative training for national cadres, in contribution to further strengthening the banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, consequently reflecting on the overall national economy.

Furthermore, Dr. AlShaikh added that, the signing of the memorandum of understanding reflects the role played by the BIBF in supporting the professional development of banking cadres, in a way that contributes to the promotion of career development paths and achieves the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

On her side, the President of the Bahrain Bankers Trade Union, Noura Al-Faihani welcomed the agreement indicating that the two sides will discuss the implementation plan to establish a set of programmes related to developing the competencies and performance of members, with a focus on aspects of digital transformation, financial technology and cybersecurity, amongst other fundamental and trending topics.
