GCC-based CIMA students scored top honors at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) May 2014 exam results, which was announced early last month.
Noel Tagoe, Executive Director, Education at CIMA, said:
"It is very pleasing to note that the pass rates for most papers have been maintained or have improved when compared with recent examination sessions, and in particular, there are excellent performances in papers E1, Enterprise Operations, and F2, Financial Management."
"It is extremely pleasing to see that there are, as we have come to expect, some excellent student performances from around the world. This highlights CIMA's ethos, that dedication and hard work can produce exemplary results. These results also show that the CIMA qualification is increasingly seen as a global passport to success."
From the GCC region, Mohamed Aboobaker and Biju Mathew, both from the UAE, ranked second and fourth respectively in the CIMA worldwide ranking. The top ten GCC prize winners include Biju Mathew, Saad Siddiqui, Jana Stefunkova, Qatrelnada Al-Khonji, Mennatullah Eltanbouli, Mansoor Riswan, Mohamed Aboobaker, Tushar Panigrahi, Dilipkumar Subramanian and Pragith Vadake Veettil.
Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC at CIMA, said:
"It is a proud moment to see the GCC students feature among the top global scorers. As the region grows, fuelled by new growth opportunities it has led to a demand for skilled talent with relevant finance qualification. CIMA offers skills that are relevant to today's challenging business environment. It is also convenient as it provides a flexible study option including advice and guides for self-study."
Examination results letters include a breakdown of marks by question. This, together with the post exam guides, will provide students and tutors with valuable feedback.
All papers in the professional qualification will again be available in November 2014 in the GCC. Students have access to a wide range of free study support resources through the CIMAglobal.com website along with e-magazine Velocity and online community CIMAsphere.
