Abu Dhabi, UAE - Abu Dhabi Commercial Properties (ADCP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GE's energy start-up Current, powered by GE, to drive energy efficiency and intelligent enterprises solutions across the projects it manages in the UAE.
Aligned with the Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision to promote sustainable development and to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environments, the agreement marks a milestone in ADCP's focus on introducing the highest standards in energy efficiency to the community management services it provides.
The two entities will work to co-develop a framework for collaborative activities with the initial focus on LED lighting retrofits in 2,200 buildings managed by ADCP in the country. Subsequently, Current would also potentially provide lighting design services for any developments developed by Abu Dhabi Commercial Engineering Services (ADCE), the engineering arm of ADCP.

ADCP provides the full spectrum of facility and community management services to banks and privately owned properties. Along with Current, the company will identify energy efficiency opportunities for its projects portfolio and Current will provide the technology and expertise in the areas of energy management and intelligent lighting applications.
Further, they will generate a database of potential areas of growth for deploying Current's advanced LED fixtures and solutions, and undertake retrofitting where adequate and necessary, to achieve maximum energy-efficiency results. Current is committed and will provide continuous technical support to ADCP, and also engage in knowledge sharing sessions and training programs to ensure highest quality of service and international best-practices.
