ArabFinance: Applying the universal health insurance (UHI) scheme in Luxor will provide the residents with approximately 2,300 medical services, according to a March 13thCabinet statement.
This will be offered at seven hospitals in addition to 59 centers and healthcare units across the governorate.
Implementing the UHI system in Luxor followed a successful experience in Port Said, where big surgeries were carried out to the beneficiaries at a maximum limit cost of EGP 300 per individual, the statement noted.
Egypt plans to reduce the implementation period of the UHI scheme nationwide to 10 years instead of 15.
