AMMAN — Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez on Tuesday met President of the Arab Women Investors Union (AWIU) Huda Yassa, union member Hadeel Khaled and an accompanying delegation.

Highlighting the role of Arab women in enhancing development and sustainability, Fayez emphasized the need to promote investments in the tourism sector, noting that the private sector has become the public sector’s main partner, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Talks also covered the importance of the AWIU-organised “Arab-African-Jordanian Investment Forum "Tourism: The Engine of Development” that began in Amman on Monday.

Yassa said that Jordan is among the most important tourist attractions in the Middle East, stressing the need to organise joint tourist programmes with subsidised prices to encourage tourism between Jordan and Egypt.
