MANAMA: Two restaurants have been closed and 35 others fined as part of the Health Ministry’s ongoing Covid-19 inspection campaign.

The raids were carried out by the ministry’s public health department in co-ordination with the ministries of Interior, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, as well as the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

On Friday the campaign covered 220 restaurants and cafés in various parts of Bahrain.

Two restaurants were closed for a week for violating the mandatory precautions put in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Bahrain announced a partial closure of retail trade outlets and services involving customers until June 10.
