JEDDAH: An investigation has been launched into the cause of a massive fire that ripped through a new high-speed train station in Saudi Arabia’s coastal city of Jeddah, injuring five people.

Makkah Governor, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, toured the scene of the fire at the Haramain train station in Sulaimaniyah district on Monday, and said that a committee has been formed to investigate the incident and present the results to King Salman.

“We await the results that will be submitted by the formed committees on the causes of the fire, to be presented to the High Commission, which will review and take the necessary action,” the governor said.
