RIYADH: A foreign employee who reports a commercial cover-up in his organization will have the right to transfer his sponsorship without the consent of his sponsor, says a new regulation.
The new regulation, co-issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, aims at encouraging and giving protection to whistleblowers.
According to the rule, the minister or his deputy will have the right to authorize the transfer of service of a foreign employee without approval from his sponsor, provided he proves his claim and is not himself involved in the case.
