Abu Dhabi will no longer require quarantine for all vaccinated travellers arriving into the UAE capital from all international destinations starting from Sunday, September 5.

The new rule has been approved by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, a statement confirmed on Thursday.

However, all passengers are required to take a PCR test prior to departure. They will also be mandated to take another test on arrival, as well as further tests a few days later, depending on where they’re travelling from.

The pre-departure tests must be taken no more than 48 hours before the flight.

Rules for vaccinated flyers

For vaccinated citizens, residents and visitors arriving from “green list” countries, they are required to take a PCR test on arrival and another test on day 6, if they’re staying in the emirate.

For vaccinated travellers from other destinations, they must take PCR test on arrival and further tests on days 4 and 8, if staying in the emirate, the advisory said.

Rules for unvaccinated travellers

Unvaccinated travellers who arrive into Abu Dhabi from green list destinations must take a PCR test on arrival, without the need for quarantine, and take further PCR tests on days 6 and 9.

Unvaccinated travellers from countries excluded from the green list must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for ten days and take another PCR test on day 6.
