President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani in Cairo, where they probed possible means of bolstering joint trade and investment relations, according to a statement by the presidency on January 22nd.

In the presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and Ambassador of Italy to Cairo Michele Quaroni, the top officials discussed a number of regional issues of common concern, foremost of which is illegal immigration and efforts to combat terrorism and extremist ideology.

The Italian Foreign Minister hailed what Egypt is achieving under the leadership of President El-Sisi in spreading the principles of tolerance and freedom.
