AMMAN — Income and sales tax revenues in January went up by 11 per cent to reach JD528.5 million when compared with the same period of 2021, the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) said on Wednesday.

In a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, ISTD General Manager Husam Abu Ali said that sales tax revenues accounted for 64 per cent of the total tax collections.

The increase in tax collection is driven by reforms and the fight against tax evasion and avoidance, he noted.
