1962 -- Constituent Assembly looks into draft constitution.
1962 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signs a treaty for joint Arab defense with Arab League Secretary General Abdul-Khaleq Hassouna.
1967 -- An Amiri Decree is passed approving Kuwait's joining of the Geneva Convention signed on August 12, 1949 to assist the injured and drowning in the armed forces and navy, in addition to the Geneva Convention related to the treatment of prisoners of war and the protection of civilians during time of war.
1986 -- An Amiri Decree is passed regarding the Ministry of Oil, designating it to oversee oil reserve affairs so as to develop state resources and increase national income.
1986 -- An Amiri Decree is passed regarding the Ministry of Finance, designating it to oversee state accounts, supervising its investments in Kuwait and abroad.
1990 -- Saddam Hussein places conditions for Iraqi withdrawal from Kuwait, calling for the withdrawal of US troops from Saudi Arabia, Israeli withdrawal from Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.
1997 -- Late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahamd Al-Sabah inaugurates the "Muhallab Boom" trade ship, one of the historical artifacts of Kuwait, in a ceremony held at Kuwait National Museum.
1999 -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) increases fuel prices between 30 to 50 percent.
